East Side Condominium

 

Clean lines and geometry define this Upper East Side condominium. Organic shapes, soft textures, and warm bold colors counterbalance distinctively retro modern furniture. An elliptical throw rug with a pattern of superimposing ellipses captures the juxtaposing elements.

 

Dark rich woods of walnut and Wenge create warm contrast to the minimalist modern style of a stark white European kitchen.

 

 

Most evident of this contrast are the Shoji screen doors and Titanic table lamps that flank and adorn a large custom designed wall unit opposite the kitchen. Exotic woods and eastern elements revolve around a Vladimir Kagan kidney-shaped occasional table. The strong juxtaposition of East meets West creates an undeniable eclectic Trans-Asian feel.

 

 

Walking inside the master bedroom, one makes a quick left turn and is warmly greeted by a custom Japanese Wenge bench, a proprietary design courtesy of 4 Seasons Design Interiors.  Above the bench hanging on the wall are beautiful multi-colored large artistic wall plates.

 

Along the window wall adjacent to the Japanese bench, there is a built-in custom cherry bookcase positioned in front of the radiator covered by a 13′ long alabaster triangulated quartz counter top. The radiator grill drops into and flanges around an opening in the back of the counter top. This unique counter top shape and application was built to solve a problem and is another proprietary design created by 4 Seasons Design Interiors.

 

A custom fabric headboard stands behind white origami branch bedding flanked by two understated glass and cherry cylinder table lamps. A modern bright red occasional chair rests next to the built-in radiator unit, underneath a standing lamp.

 

In the far right corner, there is a custom quarter-round set of drawers to hold up to 8 pairs of shoes with an ultrasuede persimmon matching seat cushion, custom design construction and upholstery once again courtesy of 4 Seasons Design Interiors.
